Request deletion by email
To delete your BookmarQ account and personal data, send an email from the address associated with your account to:
Please include the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and the email address you use to sign in. We will verify the request and process it within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in credentials (Firebase Authentication record).
- Your profile: display name, email, photo, gamification points and tier.
- Your votes (likes/dislikes) and any private draft data.
What may be retained
- Published reviews may be retained but anonymised (your name removed) to preserve the integrity of book scores that other users rely on. On request, we can remove them entirely.
- Minimal records we are legally required to keep, and backups that are purged on our normal rotation cycle.
In-app option
You can also request deletion from within the App — open Settings and contact us using the details there. If a self-service in-app "Delete my account" button is available in your version, you may use it directly.
