These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BookmarQ mobile application and related services ("the App"), provided by Pratik Bharat Palor ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use the App.
- You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
2. Roles
The App has four roles — Reader, Reviewer, Author and Moderator. Reader, Reviewer and Author may be selected at sign-up. Moderator is granted only by an existing moderator and carries responsibilities to review content fairly.
3. User content
- You retain ownership of the reviews and content you create, and you grant BookmarQ a non-exclusive licence to display, distribute and promote that content within the App.
- Content must be your own, original, and must not be plagiarised, defamatory, hateful, obscene, misleading, or infringing on others' rights.
- Reviews are subject to moderation and may be published, rejected, or removed at our discretion.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post spam, fake reviews, or manipulate scores, votes, or gamification points.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, other accounts, or our systems.
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
5. Moderation & challenges
Moderators review submitted content before it is published. Authors may challenge a published review; moderators will review and resolve challenges. Decisions are made in good faith to maintain a trustworthy platform.
6. Gamification points
Points and tiers are provided for engagement and have no monetary value. We may adjust point values, tiers, or reset balances to preserve fairness or prevent abuse.
7. Third-party links
The App may link to external sites (e.g. book retailers). We are not responsible for third-party content, products, or privacy practices.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time (see Delete Account).
9. Disclaimers & liability
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date.
